Description

Complete VAST Satellite TV System for Home

This VAST home satellite TV kit combines a UEC DSD5000 decoder, 75/80cm satellite dish and installation equipment for eligible household installations.

It provides a satellite alternative where adequate terrestrial television reception is unavailable. Check VAST eligibility for your address before purchasing; poor reception alone does not confirm eligibility.

Everything You Need in One Kit

Unlike a basic satellite dish kit, this package includes an approved UEC DSD5000 VAST decoder.

It also includes a premium 75/80 cm satellite dish, roof mount, LNB, cabling, wallplate and a SatKing SK-3200 digital satellite meter to help you align the dish with the correct satellite.

Once installed, registered and activated, the system allows eligible viewers to receive Australian free-to-air television channels without relying on a normal terrestrial TV antenna or internet connection.

What Is Included?

  • UEC DSD5000 approved VAST satellite decoder

  • Remote control for the VAST decoder

  • 240-volt power supply

  • HDMI cable for connection to your television

  • Premium-quality 75/80 cm satellite dish

  • Galvanised satellite dish mount for a metal roof

  • Satellite LNB fitted to the end of the dish arm

  • SatKing SK-3200 digital satellite meter programmed for the VAST satellite

  • 15 metres of quality quad-shield coaxial cable

  • Single satellite wallplate

  • Internal coaxial flylead from the wallplate to the decoder

  • Required cable connectors and mounting hardware

  • Clear installation, dish-alignment and decoder setup instructions

Easier Satellite Dish Alignment

Correctly pointing a satellite dish is usually the most difficult part of a DIY satellite TV installation.

There are several satellites in the Australian sky, and a basic signal finder may respond even when the dish is pointing at the wrong one.

The included SatKing SK-3200 digital satellite meter is programmed for the VAST satellite. It displays signal strength and quality and helps confirm when the dish is aligned with the correct satellite.

We also provide easy-to-follow instructions showing the approximate direction and dish angle required for your location.

UEC DSD5000 VAST Decoder

The included UEC DSD5000 is an approved high-definition VAST decoder designed for receiving Australian free-to-air television by satellite.

Features include:

  • High-definition VAST television reception

  • Electronic program guide

  • HDMI connection for modern televisions

  • Optical digital audio output

  • Parental controls

  • Automatic software updates by satellite

  • USB connection for compatible recording and playback functions

  • Easy-to-use remote control

Recording requires compatible USB storage, purchased separately. For operation and setup questions, see our UEC DSD5000 decoder guide.

The decoder connects to your television using the supplied HDMI cable.

Who Is This VAST System Suitable For?

This complete VAST home satellite system may be suitable for:

  • Rural and remote homes

  • Farms and country properties

  • Homes surrounded by hills or other reception obstacles

  • Properties located too far from a terrestrial TV transmitter

  • Holiday houses and second dwellings

  • Locations with unreliable or heavily pixelated television reception

  • People who do not want to depend on internet streaming for television

VAST Registration and Eligibility

VAST eligibility and channel availability depend on your location and circumstances. Check whether your household qualifies before ordering.

The included decoder’s smartcard must be registered and activated through the official MySatTV website.

Read our VAST smartcard registration and activation guide for an explanation of the process. Keep the smartcard supplied with the decoder paired with that decoder.

Designed for DIY Installation

This kit is suitable for a competent DIY installer with the necessary tools and safe roof access.

Our instructions explain how to assemble the dish, install the roof mount, connect the cables and use the supplied digital meter to locate the VAST satellite.

If you are not comfortable working at heights or installing equipment on a roof, we recommend using a qualified antenna or satellite installer.
