antenna can be SPIGOT mounted, surface mounted or for a temporary solution in a car or truck - magnetically mounted.  Everything is included in the kit for spigot mounting and this is ideal where the where the cables enter through the van roof (limited by the cable length of 2 metres).  The antenna is adhered to the bracket using the adhesive pad and threaded spigot and the lock nut pulls it down tight to the surface mount bracket thus removing any chance of the adhesive pad giving way over time.   Included with the surface mount bracket is a cable entry roof plate for a neat, weatherproof and affixed to the roof of your motorhome, caravan or RV.  Then the cables are routed through the roof to the router which is located inside the RV.  The router is powered by 12~24V DC (or via 240V AC) and an active SIM is inserted into the router.  The SIM can be from any network provider however we do suggest using Telstra due to their greater coverage in regional and rural areas. When switched on, the router emits a WIFI signal just like at home and you connect to the router with your phone, laptop or wireless device using a password.  Once connected for the first time your device will remember the password and automatically connect each time you power up the router. The RUT 240 is a category 4 router and the RUT360 is a category 6 router.  The higher the category, the faster the speed (in general).  There may be times when you are in a high signal area that your mobile phone may be able to download at a speed greater than your Teltonika router.  This is normal and to be expected due to the overall electronic design of high end iPhone and Samsung products.  Although at times this may be the case, keep in mind that in most rural locations, your Reach will not only offer higher speeds, it will also provide greater coverage and convert your caravan to a hotspot that multiple users and devices can connect to unlike your mobile phone. 

Why is the RUT 360 faster than the RUT 240?

The RUT 360 is a category 6 router  and utilises carrier aggregation (CA).  CA functionality makes the RUT 360 faster in areas or applications where cellular data speeds are limited.  

How many devices can connect to the router?

Up to 50 devices can connect simultaneously to the router.  

Is the router locked to a particular carrier?

No, both the RUT 240 and RUT 360 are unlocked and can be used with any network provider

How long is the Reach RV WIFI antenna cable?

The antenna cable is 2 metres long and this length is ideal for minimising signal loss while still providing installation flexibility.

How much gain does the antenna have?

The Reach RV - WIFI antenna gain is 5.8dBi @ 1710 ~ 2700 MHz and 3.5dBi @ 690 ~ 960 MHz.  Antenna gain, although very important is only part of the reason that the Reach 360 antenna works so well.  The antenna exceeds the performance of most competitors due to the attention to the design of this high-gain antenna. The radiation patterns of all elements provide an excellent balance between omnidirectionality, pattern diversity and good radiation abilities at the desired elevation. This is an important criterion for the transportation and marine market, which the antenna was specifically designed for.

Awesome products!

This combination solved our internet woes after trialling other methods. Great reception that automatically picks up different signals to keep you on the internet. Added advantage is being able to use it away from the van. Also versatile. We have two vans and take one or the other depending on the trip. We can simply put the RUT360 into the van we need it for. We are impressed.

  • Most mobile wifi providers focus on improved wfif signal coverage but not improved wifi performance ie: signal speed/bandwidth etc. Will your systems do this for improved TV streaming/gaming. Cheers

    We aren't a mobile service provider.  The Reach 360 is intended to improve 3G and 4G coverage in a caravan and also to create a hotspot around the van that user devices such as iPads, phones, computers, smart TV's can connect to.

  • If I already have a bigpond account do I have to pay more for this system?

    Hi Trevor,
    You just need to provide an active data SIM to use the system. We provide all the hardware required and you supply the SIM, or you can activate the $2 Telstra SIM starter pack that comes in the kit. Your only on-going costs are between you and your service provider, usually either Telstra or Optus.

    Hi David the Reach can run on both 240v and 12v as both cables are supplied.

    Hi Mick,

    The Reach 360 will provide you with better coverage and better signal than just using your mobile phone. Keep in mind you do require a data plan with Telstra or another provider and then you could stream your Netflix through the Reach.

  • Can you please provide the dimensions of the router and its mounting bracket to see if it will fit a cupboard in my caravan.

    Hi John,
    Sorry for the late reply.  The mounting bracket is much larger than the router as it houses the excess cable (if any) within the cavity of the bracket.  The bracket is 180 x 150mm including the mounting flange.  The router is only 100 x 100mm.  You could velcro the router direct inside the cupboard if necessary without the need to use the mounting bracket.

  • Will this kit allow Wi-Fi assisted phone calls?

    Yes it will. If you enable WIFI calling on your phone you will be able to call and text as long as the router is connected to 4g.

    I use Vodafone and when I last used my Reach I was in an area where there was no Vodafone service. I enabled WIFI calling on my phone and was connected to the router via WIFI. The router has a Telstra SIM inserted. I was able to call and text as normal.
