Does the SatKing Promax Plus find the satellite automatically?
Yes. The Promax Plus deploys and aligns itself after you select the satellite using its controller. It has built-in GPS, automatic LNB skew adjustment and last-position memory to assist with finding the signal. SatKing lists an average search time of 120 seconds, with an average of 20 seconds when searching from the last position.
Can I use the Promax Plus to watch VAST TV in my caravan?
Yes. The Promax Plus is pre-programmed for VAST reception. You also need a suitable VAST decoder to watch VAST channels; the antenna alone does not decode TV.
Does the Promax Plus include a VAST decoder?
The listed package includes the antenna, controller, DC power cable, vehicle roof mounting kit, instructions and SatPlus custom aluminium mounting plate. A VAST decoder is not listed among the inclusions, so choose one separately if you do not already have a compatible decoder.

What is the difference between the Promax Plus and a portable satellite dish?
The Promax Plus stays mounted on the vehicle roof and aligns automatically. With a portable dish, you need to set the dish out and align it when you stop. The Promax Plus also uses a flat antenna design, so it has no long dish arm projecting from the front.
What is the SatPlus aluminium mounting plate for?
SatPlus includes a custom-made 590 × 590 mm aluminium plate to spread the antenna’s 20.7 kg weight across a larger section of the roof. Roof construction varies, so the suitability of the mounting position should be checked before installation.
Can I install the Promax Plus myself?
The package includes installation instructions and a roof mounting kit, and SatPlus says it can be self-installed. You will need a suitable roof position, secure mounting and a safe route for the cables and power connection. If you are unsure about your roof construction or waterproofing, ask a caravan installer to assess the job.
Does the Promax Plus work on 12V?
Yes. The listed power requirement is 12V or 24V DC. SatKing lists power consumption of 84 watts while searching.
Will the antenna retract if I drive away?
The Promax Plus is listed as automatically retracting when the vehicle starts or exceeds 10 km/h. This feature requires the unit to be correctly installed and powered. Check that the antenna is safely stowed before travelling.
Can I use the Promax Plus for Foxtel?
The product is listed as pre-programmed for Foxtel/Austar as well as VAST. A suitable receiver and an active subscription are required for Foxtel.
Will satellite TV work everywhere in Australia?
The product page describes reception in most of Australia. Satellite reception can vary by location and conditions; heavy rain and weaker-signal areas can affect viewing. You also need a clear view towards the satellite.
