Will l be able to use my existing card from my 4121 into your 4921 and if so do l have to do anything for it to work? Reards, Gary
Hi there, when you purchase a new VAST decoder, the new smartcard will be included. Each card is paired to the box at manufacturing stage and can only be used with that box. The new card can be registered at the Mysattv website or by calling 1300 993 376.
What is the optional ir sensor used for?
The IR sensor allows the decoder to be hidden away. You are still able to operate the remote control by sticking the sensor where it can be seen by the remote.
Regards,
Philip.
Two newbie questions... (1) will this work using the dish, etc., installed by Foxtel a number of years ago? (I no longer have Foxtel). (2) it says on your rear connection info LAN "(future support)" - in the Q&A it appears that some LAN functionality already exists, such as streaming catch up TV. Is any other LAN functionality provided? Remote programming/control, etc.?
Hi David,
Yes, a VAST box works fine on a Foxtel dish. Unfortunately, Altech have removed the catch up via LAN feature on the new boxes. They have said that because most people have smart TVs these days it was a rarely used feature.
Philip
Do they come with smart card
Hi there,
Yes the decoder comes with a smartcard, remote control and power supply.
Cheers

Are Sky Racing Channels available in this box?
Hi,
VAST does not carry SKY Racing, Only Foxtel does.

Philip
I have dsr4639 which no longer works in my caravan is your Dsr compatible cheers
Hi there,
The DSR4639 was discontinued a few years ago and now replaced by the DSD4921 with built in 500GB . Another option is the 4901 with built in 1.5TB HDD. Either will do the same job as the 4639.
Cheers
John
Can this device be made WiFi capable?
Hi there,
It can stream catch up TV when connected to a router/modem via an ethernet cable. We have tried ethernet to wireless adapters which seem to work ok. Other option is to look at the Satking 980 as it does do wireless via a wireless dongle.
Cheers
John
