Clear installation, dish-alignment and decoder setup instructions
Correctly pointing a satellite dish is usually the most difficult part of a DIY satellite TV installation.
There are several satellites in the Australian sky, and a basic signal finder may respond even when the dish is pointing at the wrong one.
The included SatPlus 3200 digital satellite meter is programmed for the VAST satellite. It displays signal strength and quality and helps confirm when the dish is aligned with the correct satellite.
We also provide easy-to-follow instructions showing the approximate direction and dish angle required for your location.
The included UEC DSD5000 is an approved high-definition VAST decoder designed for receiving Australian free-to-air television by satellite.
Features include:
High-definition VAST television reception
Electronic program guide
HDMI connection for modern televisions
Optical digital audio output
Parental controls
Automatic software updates by satellite
USB connection for compatible recording and playback functions
Easy-to-use remote control
The decoder connects to your television using the supplied HDMI cable.
This complete VAST home satellite system may be suitable for:
Rural and remote homes
Farms and country properties
Homes surrounded by hills or other reception obstacles
Properties located too far from a terrestrial TV transmitter
Holiday houses and second dwellings
Locations with unreliable or heavily pixelated television reception
People who do not want to depend on internet streaming for television
The VAST service is intended for viewers who cannot receive adequate television reception through a normal terrestrial antenna.
The included decoder must be registered and activated before it can receive VAST television channels. Eligibility and channel availability depend on your location and circumstances.
Registration is completed through the official MySatTV website. We recommend checking your eligibility before purchasing if you are unsure whether your property qualifies.
This kit is suitable for a competent DIY installer with the necessary tools and safe roof access.
Our instructions explain how to assemble the dish, install the roof mount, connect the cables and use the supplied digital meter to locate the VAST satellite.
If you are not comfortable working at heights or installing equipment on a roof, we recommend using a qualified antenna or satellite installer.
