SatPlus Australia have partnered up with NAS Australia/Altech/UEC and now distribute the Altech UEC HALO 85cm automatic caravan satellite dish system.  This dish features an 85cm aluminium dish for absolute Australia wide coverage, a solid steel/brass/alloy combination gearbox, built in GPS that determines elevation angle and LNB skew, rock solid dual LNB arm assembly, quad output LNB (4 connections for optionally running the control box, VAST free to air box and Foxtel IQ), large 800mm aluminium mounting plate (now included as standard), three year warranty and support during and after the warranty period if required from both SatPlus and NAS.

Altech UEC HALO auto-pointing, auto-skewing satellite dish system is a game-changer.   No other dish in its class features a quad LNBF (run VAST and Foxtel at the same time) with power over a single coax, minimising the total number of cables. 

The single cable system makes watching VAST TV a breeze:  just plug in and tune up.  If you want to run VAST and Foxtel IQ at the same time, you can do that too, using 2, 3 or 4 cables.  he 85cm dish is required for optimal coverage throughout Australia.  Allow 130cm in length by 85cm in width for mounting on your caravan roof.

The Halo, when purchased from any store, comes standard with a single black 6m coaxial cable.  Although the system can operate from a single coaxial cable (with a VAST box only) and as the Halo 85 features a quad LNB with 4 x cable connections, it is best practice to run 2 x cables only from the dish into the van.  This way, one cable will connect direct to the Halo control box and the other to the VAST free to air box.  Running a Foxtel IQ decoder box as well as the VAST box ?  No worries, simply connect the 2 incoming cables to a 2 in 4 out multiswitch and connect up to 4 x short coaxial cables from the multiswitch to the control box (1), the VAST box (1) and the Foxtel IQ box (2).  So, having 2 x cables connected allows for much more flexibility when connecting VAST free to air and Foxtel IQ or even 2 x VAST free to air boxes at each end of the van or even one outside.  If you do require short coaxial cables you can add them here.  We suggest either 1m or 2m.

If you are purchasing the HALO for the purpose of running a VAST box only, you will NOT require the multiswitch.  If you are purchasing it to run only a Foxtel IQ decoder box you still DO NOT require the multiswitch.  If running both, then you should purchase the multiswitch.  Either way, still run the 2 x cables into the van interior.

      Locates Optus satellite straight off. Hasn't missed lock on or lost single during heavy rain and cloudy days over past 10 days since installation.
      Installation was fine and appreciate support from John to trouble shoot which cable to connect to IDU.
