This package includes the latest model Altech DSD 5000 free to air (VAST) decoder with smartcard and remote control, a multiswitch, 3 x short coaxial cables and a HDMI cable.  This pack will enable you to connect both your pay TV box and this free to air VAST box (Foxtel decoder and VAST) to your existing dish and share the dish for both boxes.  

You'll get access to the full range of satellite digital channels.  Note that the smartcard included with this box requires activation in order to access the programs.  Activation is completed at www.mysattv.com.au

TRAVELLERS USE - Register your card under "travellers registration" at the MysatTV website.  All travellers can access the service.

HOME USE -  click on the satellite decoder registration button.  You then enter your address in the field and check your eligibility.  Click on the Satellite Summary (VAST) link on the left hand side of the page.  If the report returns a result of :

The commercial broadcasters believe you are in an area that should receive adequate reception of their local terrestrial television services and should not need the VAST service. If you don't agree with their assessment, you can request a reception certificate

You can continue to apply for the channels but may have to wait up to 14 days for approval.  Note when filling out this application to enter smartcard number 4200 0000 000 as this is a flag to them that you are applying for all services.  Once approved, you can purchase the equipment and reply to their email with the real smartcard number that is supplied with the equipment.
