This is our third purchase from John & Lesley, always great service, the TV is now 3 years old & combined with the new SatKing auto antenna, it is a space saving great unit.
All smaller TVs have a lesser sound quality but inside our van its OK. however as John suggests to another writer, we will investigate an external sound bar.
Excellent TV eliminating need for a separate VAST decider, however the sound is terrible.
You will need to purchase a separate external speaker.
Thank you for the feedback. I agree, the sound is terrible. I know that most TV's of this size these days are very average and these are no better. The picture quality is nice and having the VAST box built in is obviously the main feature. We recommend purchasing a digital to analog audio converter and you can connect to the coaxial digital audio connector on the side and then output to headphones or soundbar. Cheers..John
Hi is this tv only 12volt or does it run on normal 240v
Hi Joe,
This TV comes with both a 240 volt transformer as well as a 12V lead so you can run it from either.

John
what other accessories do I need with this unit to view TV in extreme remote areas of central australia where there is no tv signal
Hello Scott,
This is only a TV with a built in VAST satellite decoder. You would add to this a complete satellite kit (less the decoder). Have a look at our portable satellite systems such as the Maxview Precision or the Optima T2 system.
Cheers
John
When will you have the Vast 22" TV's in stock or is there some were in Brisbane I can Buy one save coming all the way up to Noosa . Bill
Hi Bill,
That model is now end of line and I don't believe that Altech will be bringing them back either. They were OK as far as reliability but the sound quality was average. Would our integrated TV bracket work for you? Means you can still use your existing TV if you have one and bolt the VAST box permanently to the back of it. - https://www.satplus.com.au/products/satplus-4921-integrated-tv-bracket-mount?variant=36835361489054

Does the tv have Bluetooth
Hi there,
No, it doesn't have Bluetooth but you could add a Chromecast device to turn it into a smart TV.

Hi. I presume we can use our original VAST card from our set top box in this TV? or does it have another card? Thanks
Hi, the VAST TV's, just like the VAST boxes all come with their own, paired up VAST card that will need to be registered (no costs and completed at ww.mysattv.com.au ). Thank you
Cheers
John
Hi John Does this TV work on normal TV antenna or only on satellite? Does it have a DVD slot included in it? You mention sound quality but is it worse than normal basic 12 volt TVs found supplied with most caravans?
Hi Don, Sorry for the late reply. This TV works on both satellite and terrestrial TV. It doesn't have a built in DVD player and the sound quality is OK and well and truly listenable but if you were to connect an external speaker (via a digital to analog audio converter) then it would sound much better. Regards John
What is the power consumption on this TV? in Watts please
Hi there,
The 22" LED with built in VAST decoder uses around 24 watts.

John
Does the tv enable you to screw the backing plate onto it so that it can be mounted on the arm supplied with the caravan.
Hi Peter, Sorry for the late reply. Yes, the 22" VAST TV has the standard VESA mounting on the back so it will fit almost all TV wall brackets. My only gripe with this TV is the sound quality however it is the only model available with the VAST tuner built in. You can get a digital to analog converter for about $25 to connect from the TV to a sound bar or speaker. Regards John
