Vansat Bluestar Fully Automatic Satellite Dish

Product Description

AUSTRALIA'S PROVEN AUTOMATIC SATELLITE DISH

If you already own a Vansat Bluestar system you'd be well aware of its reliablity and smooth, quiet operation.  Reliability isn't something that can be marketed online or in a brochure.  Reliability can only be measured over time and the Vansat Bluestar has been operating in the harshest Australian conditions for over 10 years.  Mount a satellite dish on the roof of a van and subject it to the pot holed bitumen roads, ruts on a gravel road or just the stress from a van or motorhome suspension.  Then expect it to go up and down, round and round and seek out the satellite position for the next 10 or so years.   The Vansat system is built tough.  So tough in fact we've never had a failed gearbox....EVER.

The Bluestar Fully Automatic Satellite System is engineered to ensure the maximum possible signal strength in all remote areas. The supplied 85cm Super Gain dish provides reception anywhere in Australia.

Unlike some systems, the Bluestar can fine tune and lock on to the satellite in weak satellite signal areas like Central Australia and North Western WA.  This is a real challenge for most systems but not the Bluestar.  Proven reception with enough signal margin in low signal areas to provide superb, high definition viewing of VAST (free to air) or Foxtel programs without pixelation.

The system listed here will require a VAST (free to air) or Austar/Foxtel decoder box.  For those of you who already have an Austar or Foxtel SATELLITE (not cable) box then simply connect the box to the Bluestar system and enjoy your subscription channels anywhere.  Any VAST certified decoder such as a SatKing 800, Satking 980 or Altech 4921 will work with the Bluestar but if you don't have a VAST box, simply add one from the options.

Using the system is as easy as turning it on with the included remote control.  The dish will seek out the satellite in around 2 minutes.  No technical knowledge required !

Installation is simple...when you receive your system, it'll be superbly packaged in a wooden crate, protecting your investment during transit from our factory to your door.  Simply remove the fully assembled system from the crate and choose an appropriate location on your roof (you'll require around 1.2m in length x 1.0m wide of free space on your caravan or motorhome roof).  Using the supplied Sikaflex adhesive, glue the system to the roof (the system is already attached to the aluminium mounting plate).  You can optionally screw it down too.  Then run the cabling through the roof using the included roof cover plate and connect to the internal control box.  If using a VAST (free to air) or Foxtel decoder box, connect the Bluestar coaxial cables to the box and enjoy sat TV wherever you go.  If you'are looking for professional installation in Melbourne, Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast, we can provide contact details of our technicians, or we can arrange this for you.  And, if you're within certain areas, we can come to your door so there is no need to even move your van !  Call us to find out more.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • What is the weight of the Vansat? Should it be mounted near the roof edge of the van? In your opinion, which of the Vansat and Promax is the better OVERALL unit? Thanks

    Hello,

The VanSat Bluestar is 14KG on the roof.  It doesn't have to be mounted near the edge as the weight is well distributed and it comes with a 500mm long rectangular aluminium plate that is glued to the roof and spreads the load.  Although the 2 systems work on different principles in order to increase gain,  the Vansat will always offer more of a buffer over and above the minimum signal required for the VAST or Foxtel box to operate and "lock" on signal.  This is not to say that the Promax won't work across the country, it just means that the received signal will always be a little less so if the weather conditions were unfavourable then the Promax may not be able to receive all channels in the weaker NW Western Australian regions.  I think the most important consideration though (over and above signal levels) is the benefit of wind resistance.  The Promax is unaffected by wind and can be left up in all weather conditions whereas the Vansat (and all other traditional dish systems) are affected by heavier wind and tend to "flutter" causing signal break up.  Also, the compact size means the Promax will fit in tight spaces on roofs.  The Promax is heavier though at 20KG so I would consider installing it closer to the edge of the van unless the roof has been re-inforced.  The Promax is also slightly higher at 285mm as opposed to 210mm for the Vansat so a few things to consider there.

    Cheers

    John
