Good morning people, I am interested in the Optima-T2 kit and I need to ask you 2 questions please. 1. Could I fit the upright post to a draw bar clamp via a piece of the correct size pipe. 2. How do you ship these kits, eg. Aust Post, by truck etc. We live off the main road and can be hard to find for delivery so Aust Post is easier for us because they will hold things at the post office and we pick them up next time we go past. Many thanks for your help. Bob.
The Optima T2 can be pole mounted if we supply a pole with the correct diameter sleeve (same as the tripod). The pole we supply has the sleeve collar fitted along with a tridon clamp and cam lock lever and this will enable the dish to drop into the pole and move smoothly left to right. Additional cost of $45 for the pole/sleeve/clamp/lever.
We ship these kits via Australia Post so they will card it if no one home or difficult access. Give us a call on 07 5495 7674 of you'd like to go ahead.
Hi interested in this dish, only have a standard tv aerial on my caravan at the moment. Does this come with everything i need, or do i have to purchase additional items ? Decoder ? Cheers
Yes this system includes everything you need to access free to air channels via satellite all over Australia.
Hi am interested in buying a satellite system in the next month or two,am iterested in the optima T2 vast sytem but would like to know the overal weight when its all packed up? and does it come ready to use? and does it come with the vast registration card? and what is the postage cost to Tas 7277?.
The dish in the bag is 5 Kgs and the tripod is 3.7.
The kit comes with everything and the VAST card is in the decoder.
To work out freight for your location, just add it to cart put in a delivery address and it will calculate standard and express freight for you.
Does the Optima T2 system come with the best quality sat finder or would we need to upgrade.
Yes, we include the Professional 3200 meter with built in lithium battery. We've programmed the meter so it goes straight to the scan/search screen and makes it easier for the end user as there is no need to go through complicated screens. The meter is programmed for the correct satellite so it will only beep and show signal quality on the correct satellite. As it has a built in rechargeable battery, you can connect the meter direct to the dish and move freely around the campsite without the need to be dragging coax cable behind you. When the dish is aligned, the meter is disconnected and the 10m cable will connect from the dish to the satellite decoder inside the van.
Hope this helps.
I'm told you need the biggest dish 85cm to get best reception across Australia? Is that true?
Of course the larger the dish the better but using satellite in a caravan needs to be a balance of size vs performance. We now have over 2000 Optima dishes out across the country and there's no doubt that in places like Kununurra, the satellite signal is weak but nevertheless, they still work so we're pretty happy that a dish that can fold down to half size and stored on the back seat of a car can offer Australia wide coverage even in these weaker signal areas.
Hi John, What is the difference/benefits between the T2 Optima and MiniMax setups please, Especially for travelling anywhere in Australia?
The most obvious benefit of the Optima system is that you have two smaller, easier to manage packages rather than the one large package like the MiniMax. So the only benefit is storage. If you're able to store the MiniMax dish on the bed then go for that system as it now includes a bonus pole mount so you can remove the dish from the frame and use it on a mast on your drawbar if you choose.
