Is the Maxview 10m flexible twin cable as good as the stiff black coaxial cable, or does it lose quality due to its flexibility??
The Maxview flexible cable has a stranded core instead of a solid copper clad core like traditional coaxial cable. Our tests have shown that the signal quality is unaffected however the signal power (strength) will drop. This means that if you were to use the flexible cable with your system in areas like Central Australia or North Western WA, you may experience issues as the signal power transmitted from the satellite is particularly weak in these areas. Also, during heavy rain, you would be likely to suffer from rain fade (RF absorption of signal) quicker than if you used a solid core RG6 cable. In most areas you'll be OK but good idea to keep a standard cable as a backup.
