| Guide to setting up an
Emtech (Homecast) EM150IR for Optus Aurora
The following applies to a factory
default EM150IR
1] Switch on the decoder and connect to
TV using AV cables.
2] Press [OK] to select English.
3] Press ]MENU]
4] Highlight [DISH SETUP] and press [OK]
5] Highlight [SATELLITE COLLECTION] and press [OK]
6] Remove any red ticks from the satellite list by scrolling down and
pressing [OK] on the ticked satellite.
7] Find Optus C1 in the satellite list and press [OK] to tick this
satellite
8] The highlighted satellite will now be the one below Optus C1 so move up
one to highlight Optus C1
9] Press the right arrow and move into the transponder list.
10] Press the i button
on the remote control, select [DELETE] and press [OK]
11] Continue to do this until there is only one entry left in the
transponder list
12] You cannot delete the last entry, so we will edit this entry and
change it
13] Press i
and move to [EDIT], now press [OK]
14] Press the left arrow until frequency reads 0
15] Now type in 12407
16] Move down to polarity and make sure this reads V
17] Move down to symbol rate and change to 30000
18] Move down to code rate and change to 2/3 by using the left or right
arrow key
19] Now press [OK] to enter this setting into the transponder list
20] Now we will add a new transponder frequency by pressing the i
button and selecting [ADD]
21] Enter the following frequencies and remember to press [OK] to add each
one.
22] Frequency ~ 12728, Polarity ~ V, Symbol Rate ~ 24450, Code Rate ~ 1/2
23] Frequency ~ 12527, Polarity ~ V, Symbol Rate ~ 30000, Code Rate ~ 3/4
24] Now press [EXIT] the {OK] to save the changes
25] Move to [DISH CONNECTION] and make sure your LNB TYPE matches your LNB
on your dish. For example if you have a 10.7 LNB then you would move
down to LNB TYPE and change to USER SINGLE, Frequency 10700.
26] Press [OK] to save any changes you may have made
27] Now move to [INSTALLATION] and press [OK]
28} Enter pin 0000
29] Move to [SCAN SATELLITE] and press [OK]
30] Press [OK] to put a tick in Optus C1
31] Move to [SCAN ALL CHANNELS]
32] Press [OK]
33] The channels should now scan
34] If you do not see any channels scanning, the your dish is not aligned
or your LNB settings are wrong.
35] If the channels do scan then press [OK] to save the channels.
36] Now press [EXIT] twice
37] You are now ready to view the channels with an authorised smartcard
If you have not aligned your dish then
do the following.
1] Press [MENU] and move down to
[INSTALLATION]
2] Enter 0000
3] Move to [SCAN TRANSPONDER]
4] Ensure Optus C1 is the satellite listed
5] Move down to frequency and change to 12527, polarity should be V
(Vertical), symbol rate ~ 30000, code rate ~ 3/4
6} Press the i
button to make sure that [SIGNAL QUALITY] is visible NOT [SIGNAL STRENGTH]
7] Now align your dish until you get as much [SIGNAL QUALITY] as possible.
8] When aligned do not press [OK]
9] Press [EXIT] and move to [SCAN SATELLITE]
10] Press [OK]
11] Press [OK] to put a tick in Optus C1
12] Move to [SCAN ALL CHANNELS]
13] Press [OK]
14] The channels should now scan
15] Press [OK] to save
16] Press [EXIT] twice
17] You are now ready to view the channels with an authorised smartcard
