Star 2880D free to air satellite decoder.  Our cheapest AND most reliable decoder ever.  When using a standard satellite decoder, the user is required to know the parameters to scan in the channels on a particular satellite such as frequency, symbol rate, polarity and code rate or FEC.  Although these details are readily available on websites like www.lyngsat.com it can confusing for the uninitiated and also time consuming to enter in lots of parameters.  A blind scan unit such as the Star 2880D does all this automatically.  It will scan the entire frequency range of the satellite and download all of the available programs.  This makes it ideal for 'feed hunting'.
Feeds are programs that are generally unencrypted (free to air) and are broadcast for a short term with the sole purpose of feeding an earth station with video for live or recorded programs.    The Star 2880 is a low priced decoder featuring digital audio output, PAL-NTSC auto conversion, Twin AV output, 500 channel memory space, closed captions, signal level and quality indicator and more.  Ideal for any free to air, fixed satellite dish installation.  Not recommended for motorised systems (use ClearSat 3230 or Strong 4663X).
