Product Description

Introducing the all new NOVASAT ULTIMATE satellite system.  When you want the absolute best in quality.  Simply put, there is no better portable manual system in Australia.  Do your research and have a look at EVERY other portable system offered by other sat TV suppliers and do the comparisons for yourself.  The NovaSat system will exceed your expectations.

  • We've designed the satellite dish from ground up.  Includes padded carry bag.
  • We've introduced our revolutionary new SF3239 positive ID digital satellite finder.  This is the world's smallest, most advanced satellite meter and will positively ID the correct satellite.  All you need to do is aquire signal quality on the SF3239 LCD screen and then fine tune the dish for maximum signal.
  • We give you the best in cable quality by using pay TV approved coaxial cable.
  • We include our own custom made EziPlate so you can be assured of an excellent connection from outside your van to inside.
  • We only use the new VAST certified satellite decoders so you can enjoy high definition viewing of all free to air channels no matter where you are.
  • All extras are included such as dish pegs, compass, comprehensive colour instructions (the best, most informative in the country) and spare cable joiners.
  • Professional tech support meaning you can call us anytime between Mon to Fri 9.00-4.00PM.

What can this system do?

Quite simply, this system will enable you to access the full suite of high definition, digital TV channels no matter where you are in Australia.  You'll take the dish out of its carry bag and place it outside in an area that permits clear path to the sky in the direction to the satellite (charts supplied).  Then, you'll connect your digital satellite finder behind the dish and the long cable from the finder to the back of your VAST satellite decoder (see image below).  When you power up your VAST satellite decoder, you'll have power to your digital satellite finder.  Now you simply press the OK button on the digital finder to "FIND SATELLITE".  As you move your dish side to side in the general direction of the satellite the digital meter will tell you when you're on the correct satellite.  It is so easy now and you simply cannot go wrong.  Once you find the satellite you'll be able to access the full range of TV channels now available...simple.  See the detailed video below.

Let's look closely at each item that we include in this deluxe kit.

nova1.jpg

Let's start with the dish.  Our new NovaSat dish measures 75cm x 85cm diameter.  It is elliptical in shape.  The dish reflector is zinc coated to minimise corrosion and is then painted in a durable white polymer paint.  This size dish will give you Australia wide reception of free to air VAST services in all of Australia.  The dish is mounted on a stainless steel frame that is made in Australia.  Having this design means that you don't have to carry a tripod around so it is more compact.  Although stainless steel is an expensive material to use, it is best suited to satellite dishes as many dishes will be used in coastal regions where salty air creates major corrosion issues.  The dish is easily collapsed down for packing away and is simple to set up.  Elevation is adjusted simply by loosening the elevation knob at the rear of the frame. Furthermore, the LNB support arm protruding from the front of the dish is removable without the need for tools.

Here you can see how the dish packs away in its padded bag.  All cables and accessories fit inside the bag keeping everything neat and tidy while not in use.

sf3239-web.jpg

Our new SF3239 PosiID digital satellite meter is the most advanced travellers meter we've ever seen.  This meter will only respond with a signal quality reading when you align to the correct satellite.  No more guess work, the meter never lies.  Simply set your dish to the correct elevation and pan the sky in the general direction until the meter alerts you with a beep that you are on the right sat.  It will then display a signal quality bar with a percentage reading. Fine tune your dish for maximum quality and you're done.  The ultimate satellite finder.  Note that the satellite finder is only used while aligning the dish - it is removed after alignment.  Generally, power to the meter is supplied via power from the VAST decoder sent via the coaxial cable.  However, another great feature of the SF3239 is that it comes complete with battery pack (batteries not included) so you can be free of cables while aligning your dish.

rg6cable.jpg

Our premium coaxial cable kit comprises of 15m, 6m and 1.5m leads.  The 15m cable is used if there are nearby obstructions in the way.  The 6m cable is the common cable used where the dish is nearby.  The 1.5m cable is used to connect between the internal EziPlate and the VAST satellite decoder.

dsd4121-fp.jpg

Supplied as standard, the VAST certified DSD4121 free to air satellite decoder.  This decoder (once registered - www.mysattv.com.au ) will give you free access to ABC1, ABC2, ABC NEWS24, SBS1, SBS2, SEVEN CENTRAL, IMPARJA (NINE), TEN CENTRAL, 7TWO, 7MATE, 9GO, 9GEM, 10ELEVEN, ONE HD and regional news feeds.  The unit is 240V only and can be powered up via a small sine wave inverter.  The unit only uses around 18 watts while running and 1 watt on standby.  We can supply a 180 watt pure sine wave if required.

ezi-small.jpg

Our custom EziPlate is installed by drilling a small 13mm hole through the van wall behind where you plan to place the satellite decoder.  Take off the cap, nut, washers and push through from the inside.  Apply a small amount of silicon around the hole then fit the rubber washer, stainless washer, stainless nut and weatherproof boot (now supplied in black).  The Eziplate has a threaded F type socket on each end and will fit all caravan walls up to 35mm thick.

map-compass.jpgIncluded is a basic acrylic map compass.  The compass is used to find the 'general' direction to the satellite.  When used in conjunction with our charts, you'll know the approxiamte direction.  then, it's just a matter of panning the sky until your SF3239 digital satellite meter alerts you to signal found.

Lastly, we include pegs to lock down your dish in windy conditions as well as spare cable joiners (in place of digital finder when not in use) and a comprehensive colour manual to guide you through setting up the system.

All in all, if you do purchase this deluxe system, you'll get years of trouble free operation.  I've personally put a lot of thought and work into the design of the system and I know you'll be most impressed with the quality of the components, the ease of operation and the relatively low price tag when compared to other quality systems.  The NovaSat Ultimate is exactly that..the ultimate, most portable, manual satellite TV system in Australia.

  1. No regrets.

Posted by Annie from WA on 4th Jul 2012

I have had the NovaSat kit for about three months. Setup was easy (once I bothered to read the manual!) and it has been faultless ever since. Things I particularly like: the build quality of the stainless steel frame, the tuning gadget, and the big bag for the whole kit.
    Recommended without any reservations.

    G'day

Received my "NovaSat Ultimate Portable Vast Satellite System" today, from Queensland (although we have a SA address).

Set it up following your enclosed instructions, and everything went very smoothly....no hiccups. After registering, began receiving stations about 1-2 hours later, all channels were received within 5 hours.

This communication is to thank you very much for your prompt service and your clear instructions.

Your service is very much appreciated.

  4. Portable VAST kit

Posted by Unknown on 26th Aug 2011

    Dear Satplus team,

I purchased the TravelSat (Stainless) system from you yesterday, after much indecision about which version to purchase.

You suggested that I take the unit home and try it out before I took it out of Melbourne. I did so, and apart from the wind and a little rain, I would have to say that reading the book was the longest part of the process. As suggested, I did not get too scientific about the setup, but simply did the “near enough” process, and then homed in on the satellite choosing the highest pitch I could find (for VAST).

While the decoder was updating itself, I registered the VAST sim card, and then restarted the process (too make sure), as I was unsure if I had the correct satellite. I left the decoder running, and about 10 minutes later I could hear a program (I was on the signal strength display – quality 45 and strength about 85). I had been concerned as I had a tall building to search over (we are in high 2 storey units with a very limited yard).

In summary, the actual setup of the dish took about 1 minute, the alignment / locating the satellite abut 2-3 minutes, and the registration was like falling off a log. The longest time was arranging the equipment and plugging into the power.

Thank you for your better than excellent service and easy to follow instructions. Regardless of prices (and you seemed competitive) the value of your advice would make you a first choice for anybody that asked me. I would recommend you without hesitation.

    Regards

    Lex
