Product Description

The MiniMax Portable Satellite TV kit is intended for those of you who already have a pay TV decoder (black box).  This kit, when setup correctly, will enable you to connect your pay TV decoder (satellite only NOT cable TV) and watch the same channels in your van as you do at home.  The general procedure would be:

  • Place the dish next to your van in an area that permits clear line of sight in the general direcion to the satellite (roughly North if on the East Coast and North East if on the West Coast)
  • Connect the supplied digital satellite finder to the dish cable at the back.
  • Connect the main cable from the digital finder to the pay TV decoder (black box)
  • Switch on the pay TV decoder
  • Align the dish for maximum signal
  • Remove the digital satellite finder and connect the cables direct
  • Enjoy the subscription channels wherever and whenever you like

Satellite dish size:

For pay TV users, we've found from feedback over the years that a small 65cm dish will cover most of Australia.  Remote WA, far north QLD and Central Australia has proven to be a weaker signal area and we would suggest the larger 75cm dish instead.

The MiniMax - the MiniMax comes complete with carry bag and integrated triangular base from which it hinges up and locks into place.  It also has a fold up arm on the front so this dish style is more compact and easier to store.  The MiniMax sits on the ground on a flat surface. Weight approx 4KG.  Carry bag is included.  New improved model NOW AVAILABLE.

Single or Twin output LNB.

What's an LNB?  The LNB is the device that is mounted at the end of the dish and receives the reflected signal from the dish.  The LNB then amplifies (and downconverts) the signal which is then fed to your pay TV decoder.  A single output LNB is used where only one cable is required to be connected to the satellite decoder (black box).  A twin LNB is used where two cables are required to be connected to the decoder.  This is the case with twin tuner decoders such as MyStar or Foxtel IQ.  Please select the appropriate LNB from the drop down list when making your purchase.

This kit includes a MiniMax 75cm satellite dish, calibrated LNB (device on the end of the dish), complete set of 15m, 6m and 1.5m cables (long one to clear trees, shorter one to use most of the time and small one to connect from inside at the wallplate to the satellite decoder), EziPlate through the wall weatherproof connection, New SF3239 (picture below indicates Digi7 but this is to be updated)  DIGITAL satellite finder which is used inline at the back of the dish to align the dish, compass to locate the general direction, pegs to lock the dish to the ground and most importantly, the best set of instructions in the country. Backed up by unlimited tech support (if you need it - it's easy) you cannot go wrong.  Will work with all Pay TV decoders in Australia.

Choose whether a single output or twin output LNB - the Twin output LNB option will add an additional $69.00 to the total price and includes a twin output Sharp brand LNB, dual sets of 15m/6m/1.5m cables and twin input Eziplate weatherproof caravan connection.  The Twin LNB is required for decoders with recording features (record one channel while watching another).

NT and WA buyers please note:  Due to the very expensive charges we incur in shipping large items like dishes and kits, we ask that you purchase an additional freight ticket to help cover this cost.  We NEVER profit from freight and in many cases we lose.  SatPlus reserve the right to cancel and decline any bulky item order where the customer requires freight to WA or NT and refuses to purchase the extra freight ticket.  This extra charge only applies to dishes and dish kits.  Thank you for your understanding.  The extra freight ticket can be purchased from the menu on the left (last item).

    Hi John

Just a short note to say that I looked at my mates satellite set up that he paid $640 and it does not rate against the one you provide. Your dish, LNB arm, tripod are far superior. I didn't realize there was so much crap out there. I am more than happy for you to use me as a reference.

    Regards

    Les
