Several satellite program broadcasters have already chosen to compress their programs using MPEG4 and only an MPEG4 HD satellite decoder will show picture. it seems logical that, in the near future, all free to air broadcasters will go this way.
The ClearSat 3230 features HDMI output for connection to a HD ready panel, composite output, twin SCART and a USB port. The unit is PVR ready so you can connect a USB thumb drive or powered hard drive and record the programs to disk. It also has multiple timers so you can set the record time and duration.
Furthermore, the ClearSat 3230 will accept an Irdeto module (not included) so you can insert most valid Irdeto compatible smartcards from pay TV providers and watch/record their programs. NOT SUITABLE FOR THE NEW AUSTRALIAN FREE TO AIR SATELLITE SERVICE - VAST.
The unit features a variety of scanning options ~ Multiple satellite scan, single satellite search and automatic satellite search which is actually blind scan. Blind scan feature will scan all frequencies and channels from any satellite that the dish is pointed to. This is a very useful feature. Channels can be grouped into favourites such as MOVIES, KIDS, SPORTS, NEWS etc.
