Portable internet is here and it is possible to have a high speed connection almost anywhere in Australia with the all new 'A.N.T' portable internet kit distributed by SatPlus in Queensland and Victoria. The system is intended for those who like to stay in touch but also want to explore all those beautiful places where internet has not been possible. Up until now that is.

The A.N.T system is a true 2 way satellite system that does not rely on a return path via a phone line or mobile phone. The A.N.T portable satellite kit will enable you to be totally remote and still make VOIP calls (voice over IP), research the internet, send and receive emails and more, all at high speed.

The system has been built from the ground up. Custom design satellite dish with micro adjustment for fine alignment, custom tripod, a digital inclinometer so you know the EXACT elevation angle of the dish (no more guesswork), aluminium case housing the outdoor unit (ODU), satellite finder, compass and 2 way satellite modem and professional carry case for the dish and tripod. With a little practice, you'll have the dish aligned in a few minutes.

A closer look at the equipment;

The 2 way satellite dish is a customized 90cm metal reflector able to receive adequate reception from the Optus D1 satellite in all of Australia. The specifications of this dish have been approved by Optus. The original elevation assembly has been removed and replaced by a custom made bracket that is more suited to internet use due to it's stronger construction and fine adjustment for elevation. The dish measures 90 x 100cm and weighs approx 8KG. The support arm that holds the LNBF on the front of the dish is easily removed and the dish can be stored in it's padded bag under or on the bed in a camper or van.

The digital inclinometer is placed on the dish and gives a PRECISE elevation angle readout accurate to 0.1°. The satellite modem software will indicate the elevation in your location so the dish can be adjusted accordingly. The digital inclinometer is powered via an internal lithium battery and can easily be replaced.

The ODU, satellite finder, compass and digital inclinometer are stored in an attractive aluminium case. The satellite finder is used in conjunction with the laptop screen and digital inclinometer to pinpoint the satellite. Once located, the finder can be removed from the line and stored in the case.

When not in use, the tripod and satellite dish can be stored in the padded bags and placed under or on the mattress. The satellite dish weighs approx 8KG in the padded bag and the tripod weighs approx 4.5KG.

The modem software provides you with clear and concise pointing information making it easy to maximise the signal.
